Leaves – The Spell

A unique music video for Icelandic band Leaves using many animation techniques. The changing of the seasons is the most apparent aspect of this fascinating video.
Firstly the band were shot performing, and the resulting footage was then edited and frame cut at 6fps. The frame cut sequence was then printed onto card which was painstakingly cut out frame by frame. The cardboard cut outs were then shot inside the model environment using stop frame techniques to give the video it’s strong and very unusual look.

This music video was shot and directed by Duckeye, the finishing touches, grade, effects and additional animation were created in Autodesk Discreet Flint by DazPix.
