Avanti is the Italian word for ‘Go’, and it is the mission of Avanti Ministries to get the Gospel to every person in the whole wide world. The ministry of Avanti is headed up by a group of Directors passionate to reach the world, The founding Director is the internationally recognised evangelist Mr. Tony Anthony.

Created entirely using Adobe After Effects, the idents were created separately but were required to work seamlessly together. This was achieved using the light transition. The sound design was then added to complement the graphics, and to work especially well for the ending of The Gospel Message animation which can be seen here.

This was a series of 5 programs for Five which counted down the 40 best movies in a variety of genres, Blockbuster, Scary, Romantic, Comedy and 80′s. We were tasked with providing 5 separate title sequences, one for each program all with different endings relevant to the genre and each with bespoke music beds to enhance the style of each countdown. As well as the title sequences, we also needed to provide all the graphics for the series, including the countdowns, bumpers, idents, interstitials, straps, credits and information and competition screens. The music was composed by Miguel d’Oliveira.

Using stock photography from the movies featured, we designed and pieced together a series of scenes encompassing a huge range of films voted for by the public. Our Autodesk Discreet Flint composited the photographic elements together with live action effects elements, such as explosions, smoke and sparks with 3d modelling and cgi renders from Maya. The series was aired on five in the build up to Christmas.

The Bridge is a youth debate program hosted by Reggie Yates, shot in a London studio, young people have the opportunity to discuss current affairs and political issues in the capital.

The animation for this title sequence was designed and created in Adobe After Effects, combining treated photographic elements with film scratches and leader. Additional grain, dirt and a heavy black and white treatment add to the strong punchy urban style.

Artheads is a community-based arts project which challenges myths about drug and alcohol problems.
“A right bunch of artheads” is a free, two-day substance misuse art show. It exhibits work by people who have themselves been affected by drugs or alcohol and also many other sections of the community who want to comment on the issues. The main thrust of this project is to show that people can change, recover and contribute to society in a positive way.
A live concert was also held. The performers all have strong links with issues surrounding drugs and alcohol, many are themselves in recovery.
The compelling content recently won double the funding applied for in a regional Dragons’ Den style competition.

The Title Sequence was designed and created from photography and paint elements shot at high speed. It was animated and layered together using Adobe After Effects.

Northwestern University in Qatar is one of six campuses of leading American universities, established in Education City, Doha, as a result of collaborative agreements between the universities and the Qatar Foundation. Each of those American universities brings to Qatar educational programs for which those institutions are especially renowned.

We were briefed to provide a short promotional HD video sequence for the start of the conference event, needing to feature a selection of male and female students from different backgrounds to show the diversity and success of the University. We also supplied a series of 6 stings (one of which can be seen above) which featured individual students the University had selected for the promotional film. The sequence was created in Adobe After Effects from photographs of the students and merged into live action shot at the University.

The UK Music Hall of Fame was an awards ceremony to honour musicians, of any nationality, for their lifetime contributions to music in the United Kingdom. The Hall of Fame started in 2004 with the induction of five founder members and five more members selected by a public televote, two from each of the last five decades. In subsequent years, a panel of more than 60 journalists and music industry executives decided the people and groups to be inducted. The ceremony was last held in 2006, and has since been cancelled.
DazPix and Huw Davies were asked to provide a series of animations for the documentary program that accompanied the awards ceremony in the style of ‘The Kid Stays In The Picture’. The clips shown in the edited clips above are an example of the series of animations that were created from still photgraphs, scanned, cut out, retouched and animated in Discreet Combustion.
