This was an unsuccessful pitch for an Arabic teenagers reality series created in Illustrator, Photoshop and Cinema 4d. The idea of the show is that the group of kids need to generate their own power, either physically or by solving problems and completing challengers to earn some power. A gauge is constantly reminding the kids of how much time is left before the power is off. The series also aims to teach about power saving and living a greener lifestyle.

This was a pitch for a Title Sequence and graphics package for a Chart Show to be shown on UK Television.

Here was the brief treatment that accompanied the storyboard….
45 second title sequence concept.
The central element to the sequence is the ever moving and changing gold globe.
It consists of seemingly hundreds of randomly extendable columns, each able to quickly extend towards camera to display graphics, information, footage etc.
The camera remains relatively still, with a handheld feel, gently rotating around the environment, while the globe is always jumping and fidgeting about, moving backwards and forwards, extending and retracting it’s cube like tendrils in a wavy organic yet techy motion. It feels alive, playful and amorphous.
The globe pulsates more violently throwing forward a shower of tumbling musical notes that sparkle as they move towards us.
Camera rushes through the notes and into the globe to see a clean, techy and funky environment, numbers, dancers, giant arrows and strange constructing and deconstructing objects.
Rushing back out of the globe, more clips are shown, until a climactic burst of animation heralds the title.

A 30 and 15 second ident designed for 3D night when the Disney Channel showed the Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds concert in anaglyph 3D, as well as Spy Kids 3 and Toy Story.

This was a successful pitch for a Trading Business Brand created in Photoshop.

Here was the brief treatment that accompanied the storyboard….
Utilising red and black (from Spectator Business brand) images are contrasted with blues and whites for clarity and crispness. The 15 sec piece is multi-layered using ‘windows’ into the world of business management. Everything moves gracefully, windows glide and animate on in 3d space like venetian blinds but from all 4 angles simultaneously, giving the impression of solving a puzzle. Once the windows are on screen the images within the windows cut on and off about like a sliding-tile puzzle. The images represent different aspects of business and management, office scenarios, trading floor, flow chart etc. There is also room for a brief glimpse of an interviewee. The background is a soft abstract loop of light and digital numbers (financial blurb) designed to loop for plasma displays.The Logo is based on the Spectator Business style but a little more modern.

This was our design concept for the BT Vision titles that would give BT Premier League football a whole new look. Using bright and vibrant paint splashes, club colours were to be used to create instantly recognisable silhouettes and trace dynamic action sequences to give the BT Vision package an original, bold and unique branding.

Here was the treatment that accompanied the storyboard….
From a splatter of paint emerges a recognisable image of a player striking a ball, a manager gesticulating to his team or a referee blowing his whistle or brandishing a yellow card. Each paint splat will be carefully manipulated and shot to form the shape of the selected footage allowing a seamless and elegant transition from paint splat to fully formed figure. Each footballing hero will be represented by using the club colours he plays for or manages. The scene will reflect these colours, changing with every transition until all the premier clubs have been represented. The background will also represent the clubs with elements from the club badges, and a continuation of the kit and club colours.

This was a pitch for a Teenagers series following working animals created in Photoshop.
Using photography of specific animals they would be brought to life with simple animation and amusing facial expressions. Although the sequence would have been constructed from 2d elements the whole piece is a journey in 3d space, with each scene constructing, moving, deconstructing and transitioning into the next scene.

Here was the treatment that accompanied the storyboard….
Opening on a clapperboard, which shuts and withdraws revealing a wild west scene, the camera pulls focus, where a Black stunt horse is holding his gallant pose, the long horned cattle looks on with bewilderment. We rush through the scene, twisting and deconstructing to discover a building site, with its monkey builders taking a break while the Orang-utan foreman looks on disapprovingly.
The animation changes again, this time a dog in bomb disposal costume, looks proudly if not slightly worried at the WWII bomb he’s just uncovered.
Flying past the tank and trees, a blaze of camera flashes recede to reveal a star cat actress sitting diva like next to her oscar statue. We pull back as if through one of the press’s camera lenses and snap the image which pulls back from a newspaper in the briefcase of a cute dog in his city office, he looks over his glasses cheekily, implying his interest in the feline starlet.
We deconstruct the scene through the window to discover a marine scene, dolphins leap happily in a kind of dance, joined by giggling pigs, we pull back through dense foliage.
The sequence finishes by continuing to pull out rapidly from the last scene past an elephant struggling to pull a heavy object, through the logo to reveal the title. The elephant drags in the ‘AT’ word and trumpets triumphantly as a final flourish.

This was a pitch for a Title Sequence and graphics package for an Entertainment series for Five.
Jamie Theakston presented a super-heavyweight knockout contest to name the nation’s favourite pop star. 32 stars were pitted against each other in a series of head-to-head battles, in the form of video clips and animation. During each ‘fight’, the viewers phone in and vote for their favourite pop star from each round. Our 32 stars punched their way through five successive rounds as 32 stars become 16, 16 become 8 and so on until there was just one pop star left. The storyboard was created using Autodesk Maya and Photoshop.
