Quick tip – Blending Modes Shortcut
Here is a useful quick tip for After Effects and Photoshop users. When you have a layer that you want to change the blending mode of it is a real hassle to keep going to the layer (especially if you have many layers) to select a different mode each time from the drop down menu. Its useful to be able to flick through the options and experiment with the look of a layer. Instead of using your pointer each time, select the first blending mode option you want to see, then use the shortcut SHIFT – (hyphen) or SHIFT = (equals) on the main keyboard to cycle through the different modes backwards or forwards. The plus and minus keys are situated in the same location on a standard US keyboard.
It’s actually the hyphen and equals sign. The plus sign just happens to be the one above the equals sign on a standard US keyboard.
